If they end up fixing your car make sure you ask for compensation for the loss of value. If you ever end up selling your car they will run a carfax and see that it has been in an accident and offer you a significant amount lower for your trade in. Don't let the guys insurance get away with it easily, they screw people over on a daily basis.

edit: and don't forget to take it to the most prestigious autobody shop in your area, and explain how you want the best possible job done on your car regardless of cost, since the guys insurance will be paying for it. I wouldn't settle for anything less than OEM parts as well.

The crease in the upper quarter panel near the door makes me think theres a ton of hidden damage beneath that, hopefully it's totaled. You wouldn't want to be driving that car after something like this.

Whether or not the insurance comp deems the car totaled all depends on the salvage value they can get (obviously this is different for every car depending on damage). But on average if the cost of repair exceeds about 70% of the overall value they will "total" the vehicle.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, it really helps.

As for any updates, took it to the body shop yesterday, and while going over it we realized the hood, headlights and truck were misaligned. None of the doors will close correctly either, so chances are it's totaled.
