the best way to do it is definitely to sand off the chrome and then hit it with some Dupicolor Primer - then a few coats of whatever color you want and finished with a couple clear coats. The sandding is big because the paint doesnt really hold well to the original chrome especially since it take the brunt of abuse on the highway and such. I painted mine to match the Black Pearl Emblems. Next is the molding around the doors.

As stated above, definitely scuff up the chrome.

secondly, you should get some clear bra material otherwise it will chip and look like crap after a few months.
