Default Question for those with Toyo Proxes T1R tires...

I just had a full set (225/40ZR18 front and 255/40ZR18 rear) mounted and balanced using the latest Ground Force Balancer Machine. These tires feel amazing right up to between 79 and 81mph when I get a slight vibration. I called the guy that did the job and he says he cant spin the tires at that speed and 65mph is the max they can do. He also says that the tires may need a little time to fully seat. So this morning I took it back to him to see if I had slung a wheel weight and everything was perfect up to 65mph per the machine. So I took her out on the interstate and cruised at 80mph with a very slight vibration and then took her up to about 115mph and then let her coast down through the rough zone to feel it minus the engine vibration. The tire vibration seems to be dissapating the more I do this. Is this common? What could be going on here?

I never noticed that when i had T1R's. I've gone through 2 sets of T1R's. They're my favorite tires, but they cost so much and they don't last that long.

I've had 19" T1R's for over 4 months, have not experienced vibration in the 75-100 mph range. Normal cruising around here is 75-80mph.

I have the stock 18" wheels and the same tire sizes as you. No vibration at any speed. Maybe have your alignment checked?

All issues I had, had nothing to do with the t1r. Maybe you just have a bad tire?

What issues did you have? I think I must have found the only bad tire they have ever made. Still significant vibration around 80mpg. Any suggestions??

I have a slight balancing issue with my Nitto INVOs (suck ***) and I'm thinking one of my front tires are defective. Maybe one of yours is too?

this happened w/my brand new sumitomo htz3.. my worn down oem bridgestones had a smoother ride than my new tires.. i never got the problem resolved, but last week when i took it in for a tire rotation they said my tire had uneven wear due to the alignment being off..maybe thats whats causing the vibrations..my tires are 10months old now.

Alignment has nothing to do with vibration.

Could be a slightly out of round tire, a bent wheel, wheel balance (sounds like you have that one addressed), or even a wheel that isn't bolted to the car correctly (too high torque specs on one lug, too low on another)

Oh..don't forget the loose nut behind the wheel (its a joke..lighten up)
