Heat gun process?

Heat gun process?
I want to drop my IS another 1/2 inch, leaving no gap between the tires and front fenders. At the same time, I plan to put 10mm spacers to get it hellaflush on the front. However, my front setup is 1/2" from the fenders now, and when I hit a bump the front wheels rub (slightly).
Having said that I want to try the heat gun process to reduce/eliminate the rubbing.
Can someone chime in how the heat gun process works and which area I actually need to heat?
Thanks in advance!

I heatgunned the crazyness out of my fender wells.
Here's what I did and suggest you do the same.
Materials:
- Heat Gun
- Large rock or something to push the heated plastic when its hot (you cannot do this with your hands, even if your wearing gloves, its too hot)
- Spray bottle filled with cold water
Process;
GO nuts! You gotta take off the wheels ovbiously, then look all around and see where your rubbing (the fender liner should have some marks where the tire rubbed). But I would take it even a step further and push any and all plastic you possibly can away from the tire. Anything that can POTENTIALLY rub, heat and push in.
What I did was heated the plastic so hot, pushed in using the large rock, and held it in place with the rock while I spray it with the cold water spray bottle to cool it so it would harden in place.
Worked like a charm and was honestly pretty fun to do. The plastic is highly configurable. If you get it hot enough you can do whatever you want with it. In summary basically heat it, push in using something (rock/whatever), then hold it in place with that rock/whatever and soak the hot area with a cold water spray bottle so it hardens in place.
From these efforts, I'm running 19x8.5's +23 up front and I'm slammed on coils and guess what... NO RUBBING what so ever at all.
EDIT:
Your also going to have to deal with that metal piece which holds the fender and bumper together. I had a body shop cut that ish out as much as possible (some bang it up away from the wheel with a hammer). But I also has the body ship bend up that bolt. Now that bolt holding the bumper & fender together is bend almost on a 90 degree angle up, completely away from the tire.
^If this whole metal/bolt talk confuses you, you'll know what I'm talking about soon enough.
