Hey guys, I did a DIY search for the daytime running lights, but couldn't find anything. Could someone explain to the noob what size lights these are and how to get access to them?

 

hey man, there is ALOT of stuff, try searching again. use "drl" or "DRL bulb"

 

First of all you have to remember if you replace the DRL with LED, you lose your high beams. So getting them turned off is the best option.

they are 9005 bulbs and there is a dust cover behind the wind shield washer fluid tube(driver side) and behind the airbox(passenger side) i am still learning to so dont feel bad about asking questions. come on nick i bug you all the time hahaha

 

Only a dealer can turn them off. Some dealers push back and don't want to do it (liability excuse), but firm pressure on them with the codes on how to do it (search online here) and usually you can get a technician to do it. When i asked the dealer to do it they said they weren't familiar with how to do it so I gave them the codes and they did it. No problems.

 

A little off topic, but are the fogs 9006?

'best' is subjective what about the guy who never drives at nite? the city guy? one who finds the low hids/fogs effective enough? the guy who hasnt figured out how to turn them on?

wow im an amatuer..why do you lose your highbeams w/ the leds?

 

they don't project light on the road. they're only bright when you look at them, and they look pretty

 

right, I thought that we were saying that by changing your DRLs to an led bulb somehow made your high beams not function..they ae two separate bulbs right?

Nothing is dumb, I'm still a little lost but learning tons.

 

this information is everywhere but i continue to repeat it lol. we need to merge all these threads haha. but i don't mind repeating, anyway. the DRL is your highbeams at 50% power. so its not glaring during the day. they are the same bulb, that how u loose highbeam. LEDs are nowhere near that bright.

 

I think personally I'm gonna pick up some nokya 9005 artic blue bulbs. Thoughts?
