20's tire set-up question
hey guys, i just ordered 20's wheel for my IS.
20x9 & 20x10.
i need to order tires but i'm not sure what tire set-up will i choose.
most of the people in CL runs 235/30 and 245/30 for their front 20x9.
both has a sidewall lower than 3inches (235-2.8 inch & 245-2.9 inch) with a radius lower than 13inches (235-12.8 & 245-12.9)
i was planning to run 225/35 for my tire set-up mainly because i live in the philippines and the road conditions here are terrible. before in my previous car i used to run sidewall lower then 3 and radius lower than 13 inches i always damage my wheel because of the potholes here.
if i go for 225/35 this will give me a sidewall of 3.1inch and radius of 13.1 inch, this is acceptable and i think a safe tire choice. but here's my problem, i'm scared i'll rub all over the front. or do you think it's safe? i'll drop it with tein cs with a maximun of zero fingers or maybe -1 finger up front (to the fender).
any inputs to my problem? should i go for 225/35 or 245/30? i just want to make sure before i make a purchase. i'll be importing the tire so i don't want to end up buying the wrong tire setup. thanks guys
