10% ethanol ??? is it ok to use?
Most of the gas stations in my area use 10% ethanol mixed with gasoline.
Is it ok to use it?
does it give better performance? mileage?
safe for the engine?
i have 08 IS350.....

There was a story on our local news aways back about this is very common
at most gas stations and can actually lower your performance and gas mileage.
I found 3 stations here that post "NO ETHANOL" so I tried them and
I gained an instant 3 mpg while a noticable increase in acceleration.
It's a few cents per gallon more but definitely worth it.
My lawn mower runs better too without the extra ethanol.
I was getting ~19mpg on the common ethanol gas and now I get ~22mpg on the non-ethanol gas (all city driving).

It should be expected that your mpg goes down slightly with the addition of ethanol into the mix because ethanol has a lower volumetric energy density than regular gasoline. This is not surprising, though 3mpg seems a little high. If you can get non-ethanol gas for the same price than go for it because you're getting more energy for your money, otherwise it's not worth it. Going to pure gasoline is not going to make your car any faster as there is only about 3% difference in energy density.
