#2 is also a good way to continue your bluetooth phone call without accidentally hanging up or have to transfer to the handset.

If the door chime is enough to wake your sleeping child then he or she has a very, very light sleep and would have waken up anyways as you were taken he or she inside. I regularly take care of my sister's children over the weekend when they go out and the door chimes have never awoken them.
We've already mentioned that the beeping can be solved by visiting your dealership and asking for them to change the settings and as far as I know the only solution to the trunk release is to keep the key fob on you, which is a no brainer. It shouldn't be in the cupholder anyways.
And while your 'rubbing and tire combo' is clever but uhm it would've been a bit better suited for someone who owns a first-gen GS or LS, or those crazy VIP people.
Just out of curiosity, what were your previous cars?

really depends how tired the kid is and how long he's been asleep..but yes, he's a light sleeper
anyway, the dealer said they couldn't turn off the beeping from the open door/shutoff. perhaps another dealer can? the sticky up top does not mention the beep from the open door/shutoff to be part of the lexus personalization that can be done by the dealers. that's why i posted it here.. and no, the key is not in the cupholder, it's in the house..
from my pov, ur first comments just came across a bit snobby.. sorry, perhaps the connotations such as sarcasm gets lost on the internet, but let's keep this civil shall we?
and to satisfy ur curiosity, 300D, accord, corolla, 850 turbowagon, c36 amg, tsx... even the last two, where there are release buttons inside the car and on the keyfob (and lack of key hole on the trunk in the latter), i could still open the trunk without the key in my pocket so long as the door is unlocked.
with the is350, imo, it's kind of like saying, the doors are unlocked, but, oh btw, u can't open ur driver's door still because u need ur smartkey next to u

I'm sorry if I came around as snobby but I got the same perception from you, complaining about meager details when you own a fine luxury automobile. You're reminding me of the RX owners who complain about every little detail down to radiator protection because one had an unfortunate accident where a large object blew a hole through his radiator.
Is it so hard to have the keyfob on you, though? It will solve 90% of your problems.
