just joined this site looking for a good deal on a new is 250. saw this thread and as a former s2k owner, ya not the fastest car but the most fun car i have ever driven. good choice.
i'd get a mugen intake or a replica mugen intake as they both work the same and cut a hole in the front bumper as the air guide is above the radiator on that particular intake plus the air moves in a straighter line into the filter.

I definately wouldnt cut that intake. Thats the baller "whale *****" intake that the S2Ki guys are in love with. You could flip it for a good chunk of change and buy another intake with a lot left over if you really wanted to go that route.
I'm in the opposite end of the spectrum. I have an 08 supercharged and half CF S2000 that I love, but we're trying to decide on which IS model we want as a more comfortable DD. I love the IS-F, she loves the IS-C.

I took my S2000 to my first autocross in probably 6 years on Sunday, and had a blast. I ran in the street tire class with 17 other S2000's, and came in 4th. I had totally forgotten how well the S2000 handled, and was blown away by how good performance street tires had gotten. The S2000 that won our class was about 3 seconds faster than me on a 50 second course. He was using Kumho Ecsta XS's on a virtually stock S2000. I'll be getting a set of those for my OEM wheels for next season.
I just purchased a set of Neuspeed lowering springs with adjustable Koni Yellow shocks, and a used Spugen single exit exhaust. The exhaust reminds me of the custom exhaust that Combfilter had done for his IS350 (except that Combfilter's was a dual). It's a Magnaflow resonator, Magnaflow oval muffler, and a nice Magnaflow oval tip with mandrel bent piping. I'll post a video after I install the exhaust.

those are sick cars. my ex girl had one and i loved driving it, but i couldn't drive it for more than a half hour. i'm 6'4" and really only fit in an S with the top down and seat all the way back in the straight-up position. love how they rev and handle though.
that's why i know when i see someone driving a honda s2xxx, they have to be a few inches shorter than me!
