Default Ticking sound while stopped, in D

So I hear a sort of ticking sound (like if a timing belt is loose and needs to be tightened) after I've driven for a while and I'm stopped, say at a stop light. And before anyone says it, it's not the normal engine ticking. It doesn't happen all the time; as a matter of fact, I tried bringing it in to Lexus and have a few of my friends listen to it, but it only makes the sound when it feels like it. I'm guessing it happens after driving for a while because it doesn't make the sound when I just start up the car. Now, my service tech at Lexus says we have timing chains, so it's not that.

It only happens when I'm stopped and when it's in drive. Surprisingly, when I put it in neutral, the sound goes away and if it comes back, it is very faint. It's hard to reproduce but a few of the people I've shown it to know what I'm talking about and notice it too.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or could give me some ideas on what it could be. Any other loose belts that could cause this? I took my car in for an oil change last week and told them about it but they couldn't figure anything out.

apparently, i didn't clarify enough when i said

it's not the normal engine ticking

i know what the direct injection ticking sounds like. anyway, i figured it out. it was the fujita intake filter tapping on the chassis.

problem solved. mods please delete.

ohh IC my bad...the ole intake pipe noise...you too huh?!?!? Happened to me also. But I suffered from a ticking/knocking noise going over bumps and in the end my pipe disconnected on the last bump. Only after reconnecting it I found it also cured my noise!....wow I forgot about that one.
