faulty installation? I would try getting a lawyer and sue the tire shop for putting your life in danger. 20 miles and a blow out is just plain ridiculous.

I don't mean to thread jack or anything, but IMO that would be ludicrous. You think he should sue for the *potential* of something more serious occurring.

Something unknown caused a somewhat freak accident to occur. Who knows what the problem was. And, honestly, if it's fixed now is it a big problem? Crap happens sometimes. Now, if he DID have an accident or something and can prove exactly what was at fault, then that would be another story.

But, on his own admittance he said it may have been overinflated, that he did hit a pothole, and either way he was safe and nothing was hurt/damaged/etc other than the tire itself, which was replaced free of charge.

So, why sue? He's back in the same position he was in prior to the blowout. It's likely that's all he'd win in a law suit anyway.

Back on topic: **I give major credit to Discount Tire, who was EXTREMELY cordial enough to replace the tire not purchased or even mounted there FREE OF CHARGE!!!

I had the wheels put on that morning and didn't have a chance to detail the car for a photo shoot with my new wheels. I just took my car from El Paso to Dallas, 660 miles, to have some hail damage fixed at Sewell Lexus. When I get the car back in two weeks I'll shoot some pictures.

The tires were mounted there! The same guy did the installation that took these tires off of my old Volk GT-Ms that were on the car for about 5K miles. He's the only one who has ever touch my car there.

I do take my hat off to them for replacing a tire I didn't buy from them. They didn't make much off of me since all I paid them to do was install my tires on my new Volks. I'm happy in the end.

My bad. I didn't know they were mounted there.

But, the next line I quoted from you means the most.

Things could have been worse. I'm glad those forged Volks didn't get damage though.
