Default Hmm. Battery Died???

Hey guys. I don't know what's wrong with my car yet but as I was driving home, I got off a ramp. When I was approaching the ramp, I put the car in neutral so that I could just coast off the ramp onto the outer road and to the stop lights. But about 4 seconds into the neutral position, the cars battery lights and check engine light flashed on and when I put it back in drive, I was unable to accelerate. So I pulled over and restarted the car and drove like nothing happened at all. So I have a few questions...

1) Does this mean by battery is about to die on me?
2) Is this something else, other than the battery?

Any help would be appreciated so I don't run out of batteries in the middle of nowhere in the near future. Thanks guys.

Car started. Not the battery.

If it does it again, contact Lexus service department.

Sounds like you have a problem with the OBD system. Probably overloaded a sensor and sent a error to the OBD system. Do you have a stick or manual?

The car is an IS350 so it must be an automatic. While I never had this issue (Mine is an 06 - had it since it came out), I also never pushed the stick to Neutral while I drive. Someone on here also has a similar issue with shutting down the car while leaving it in Neutral. Maybe, there's a bug in the computer with leaving it in neutral while driving or shutting off. So it's most likely NOT the battery. Also, try NOT to push it to Neutral while driving to see if this happen again.

If you really want to pursue the bug and can get it to repro consistently with the scenario of while driving and push it to Neutral, do report to the dealer and maybe Lexus will put out a TSB.

I haven't had that problem before and I coast on N for at least 10-15 mins, (on my way back from Las Vegas, as soon as I hit the Cajon Pass I shift into N and coast all the way down).

to be honest. i think any car battery would die in 2 hours without the engine running.

i have a similar problem but with mine its trying to get the car to startup. i had the engine off one day and the car was in acc mode still because i was using the bluetooth and all of a sudden the bluetooth disconnected and the audio instead of coming back on i couldn't hear anything. So i tryed to start the engine and the engine wouldnt turn the needles wouldn't cycle they would try to but it seemed as if they were struggling. Had to keep trying a few times and the engine finally turned on.

What does it sound like the problem is here I am totally confused?
