Default What's involved in purchasing a set of wheels?

Hey guys, looking for purchase a set of WORK wheels for my IS. This is my first time buying a set of wheels of any sort so need info from you guys on what's involved?

I'm buying a set of WORK wheels, I need to ask them to drill a extra hole for TPMS compatible. I need to purchase a set of TPMS sensors, who can program the sensors for me?

Do I need those iforged 'adapters' for the TPMS?

I'm buying a set of 19's for my IS AWD.

Anything else I should know?

Thanks.

can't wait to see what you pick up. check ebay for sensors and i believe the dealership can program them for you. not sure if you will need the adapters though.

Work will drill an extra hole on the inner barrel of the wheel if you specify to be TPMS compatible. Then you don't need to buy iForged adapter.

You can either purchase an extra set of sensors or just transfer the ones you have in your stock wheels. If you do purchase an extra set, you'll have to go to the dealer to get them programmed as a second set on your car. Good luck with your purchase.

I believe work has a tpms adapter as well as a drill a hole option if you go 19" or bigger. Not for 18's though.

Hey Peter, where are you planning on getting the wheels?

Check out ebay for the TPMS sensors. I got an extra set there for $100 USD for my winter set up. Any lexus dealer should be able to program them for you as well. I went to DVN Lexus and they quoted me $65 CDN.

use your existing TPMS unless you want to use your stock wheels as winter tires. Any lexus dealer can program it for you for a fee...good luck

So I don't need WORK to drill a extra hole for TPMS? The wheels is WORK SC1.

you dont have to drill a hole if you get the adapter. you will need a set of tpms sensors.

Either have a hole drilled or buy the TPMS adapter is what they are trying to say.

some things you need to keep in mind:

How low will you slam your car?

How big of a tire are you gonna run *vip stretch or big tire* ?

How aggressive an offset, how flush do you want (ties in with how big a tire and how low will you go) ?

Do you have a BBK (will you buy a BBK in the future) or do you have is350 brakes, you'll need to decide what type of disk for the front rims, high disk (R disk)...

Now once you've figured out all of this THEN you can figure out your rim specs, everything is interconnected.

llama,

One finger gaps all around is what I planned. I'm going for a safe route, no stretched tires. Somehow I like a little tucked look. I have small 250 AWD brakes, no BBK.

Spec is 19x9 +42 F, 19x9 +36 R, R disk F and O disk R. Tires are Falken 452 235/35/19.

Thanks.
