Default Weirdest thing just happened after changing D4s light bulb

so today i finally got my D4s HID light bulb from ebay. i was so exicited to install it, only to get stuck on how to take everything apart and install it. due to i am a total noob ***, i took the stock light bulb out and didn't know how to put the new replacement in! come to think of it it was pretty halarious and ridiculous. i was stranded for a while, after taking my intake apart and checked out the stock light bulb on the passenger side. i finally figured the thing out. so it bascially took me a good 2 hours with a help from a friend also.

so here is a pixx the new light 8k D4s

the weirdest thing was: when i started my car something was wrong with the VSC, so my traction and everything was automatically turned off, smelled heavy gas when i started the car for the first time. i was kind of freaked out, but drove the car for a while and everything was fine. until the third time i restart my car everything went fine again and no more gas smell... pretty weird huh? but then again i was thinking, if somebody can figure out what happened, then no more peddle brake dance is needed for disabling the traction control, how cool is that?? but then again something might be wrong though

"after taking my intake apart" - try to reset the ECU by unpluging your battery for 30s+. To disable VSC hold TRC 5s+ -no peddle brake dance is needed.
Hope it works...

oh no no no after restarting the car for the third time the problem is fixed. it was just kind of suprising to me because never something like this happened to me before, but guess its a very common thing.

if you started the car when the MAF sensor was disconnected, it'll throw a "check VSC" light. that happened to me once when i was doing a DIY on an aftermarket intake, and it threw me for a loop until i figured out what happened.

iirc, the 2is ECU is self-correcting.

you don't have to take out the actual intake tube when you need to get to your filter or passenger headlight housing, just loosen up the clamp from the top portion of the box to the tube, you can wiigle it out just fine by loosening up the 2 bolts that hold the bottom portion of the box down. This allows you to keep everything connected if u have to get to the headlights and intake filter

using the advanced search function and the key words "D4S" and "DIY" in the 2is section will lead you to this:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...hlight=D4s+DIY

and in that thread, there's a link to this thread - which is exactly what you're looking for:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ment-help.html

hope this helps, and you may want to consider using the search function next time around.
