I agree with everyone on here. Its too crazy for you to say you're too old for anything. But sounds like you have more important things to think about then modding. You're 30 married with children and saving to purchase a new ride later, sounds like you already know your own prorities. Just mod it slightly where its not so stocky and you'll be fine.

If you're already this self-conscious about modding, then perhaps you shouldn't. Sounds like you would regret it anyway.

I'm also married w/ kids, but I'm fortunate that I don't need to drive my IS very often.

There's a man with a BMW X6 on 22" chrome rims that eats at the same restaurant as me on Sunday mornings, and he must be in his early 50's and doesn't look the type that would be running 22 inches of chrome. There's also this man in his late 40's that has his car washed at one of my car washes, that has an Accord coupe on 20" chrome wheels and he doesn't look the type either.

If your mods are tasteful and not too 'bold,' then I'd say go for it. If you're looking to slam your IS350 on big Giovanna rims, shy away from it.

HA, I'm 31, have 3 kids, operate my own business, and have one of the most modified IS350's in the country.
Go for it OP!

BTW, Its great when you show up at a restaurant for dinner, pull to the front and drop the family off then park. Ohhhhh the looks you get from the 50 something crowd.
It was worse when we owned the GX470 tho. People would ask if my parents knew we had their SUV out.

I'm 38 and I'm modding this car more than any car I've ever owned!! IMO, if it's something you want to do and you've got the extra money to do it, then go for it.

Like previously said.. Its up to you.. but this car looks 100 times better if done correctly!!! I bought my IS 4 months ago, I've already lowered it, put 19's on, custom system, intake/Exhaust, and some minor cosmetics... Def worth it, if you ask me!!

I'm 36 and still going at it. I like "shocking" others when they ask me my age and know about my car at the same time. Stuff like this keeps you young. hehe

Yes, entirely too old. I suggest that you save up cash to modify the Lark scooter that you'll need in your dotage.
