High mileage IS250/IS350's...
#166
07 IS350 with 85k here. The only abnormal stuff I have had to replace that wasnt expected was both rear calipers, and both headlight assemblies due to water intrusion. I of course have done the all maintenance thats needed, plugs, filters, tires, ect.
Car still runs a drives like it did when i bought it at 50k. I can feel the shocks are going to need replacement soon, but thats just normal wear and tear.
So far i have never had a check engine light or been stranded anywheres. Which is more than I can say about my short stint of owning a VW CC.

- Two front Tires (Worn inner edge, outer edge still have 5-6'32nds)
- Two hood shocks are worn out (Hood falls)
- Windshield washer hose connector broke (Cheap fix, just a tiny plastic)
- MAF Sensor very sensitive to dirt, will throw a code if I don't clean it and the filter within 5,000 miles.
Closing thoughts:
- Everything else is working as intended.
- Engine doesn't burn oil like it used to before the ZLA.
- If you have the ZLA done, do not baby the car, drive it off the lot holding the gears very high for at least 25 miles (not FWY, alternating stop and go) to build heat and properly break in the new parts.
- On short trips (1-3 miles) drive in 2nd or 3rd gear to keep the revs high to prevent additional carbon build-up.
- Passes SMOG with F-Sport Intake and Tanabe Exhaust.
- Raced a brand new IS250 (on a closed circuit) and walked on it during multiple rolls at 20mph. It would never catch up, slow walk but pulling away (210,000 miles ODO).
- Clear Bra your headlights and ceramic coat the clear bra, you'll thank me later someday.
- Use top tier gas and don't ever skimp out.
Take care of the car and it will take care of you, it has NEVER left me stranded on the side of the road in the nearly 11 years of ownership. Thank you LEXUS

Cool! This is helpful. I have a 08 Lexus Is250 with Luxury package (manual transmission). 110k miles. I was wondering what sort of maintenance will be required.
ZLA was done on my car around 66k miles. I am worried about keeping the revs high on short trips since the engine may not be warm enough.

2006 IS250 AWD 242,000 miles. No joke. I travel far to and from work. Car has been good to me minus regular wear and tear for a 10 year old car, in addition to common IS250 issues like loss of power and VSC light coming on.

2008 AWD IS250 w/ Nav - 144,534 miles
Bought at 137,747 Miles from a used car lot in NY, didn't matter since it is a daily to help prevent me from putting miles on my ISF and prevent it from damage in Northern NY due to the salt. Installed some parts to make it look nice since I daily drive it anyways.
2009 ISF - 74,000 Miles
Bought at 64,000 Miles from a dealer in HI and currently stays there. I didn't do anything to it since I'm stationed in NY.

Hello - Been a long time since I posted but figured I'd make an update. IS250 AWD with 165k and going strong.
Oil change 12k, filter every 6k - I do oil analysis so extend it as long as I can. I use about 1/2 to 1 quart of oil every 6k. Generally I follow the maintenance schedule booklet.
Mazzuri headers have 150k. Just had to replace the resonator out back. Exhaust just in front of resonator had a pinhole. It was easier to cut the whole thing out. Mid west = salty winters.
Replaced alternator (130k) and water pump (140k).
New front bearings added when I took them apart for the IS350 Brake Upgrade
Replaced on O2 sensor way back.
New rims. OEM wheels are now for winter driving
HID headlight ballasts. Passnger side replaced. Drivers side is needing to be replaced.
Rear axle CV joint boot is torn. I am told to just leave it as is.
Front axle CV joint boot replaced.
On my second battery
Several brake jobs over the years
I did the carbon cleaning myself once per TSB. Now I run with techron for every fill up. Then have the engine fogged by the dealer every year.
Dealer performs AWD differential maintenance.

2007 IS250 AWD with 166k here. Bought it in 2016 with 138k miles on it. So far it’s just been oil changes, tires, brakes, and a transmission change. 2 solenoids failed on the trans so it wasn’t worth going through the hassle. Got a trans out of an 09 with 50 something thousand miles on it and so far so good.
