Default used 07 IS250...

I wanted to post this to everyone to see if anyone is having similar issues to me.

I just bought a Certified 2007 Lexus IS250 with 16K miles on it. Still has the bumper to bumper factor remaining.

Here are my concerns:

1) When I'm driving the car shifts smooth and accelerates just fine, BUT when I brake and the car hits about 10 miles per hour during deacceleration the RPM needle jumps from 1000rpm to about 1200rpm and then when I hit a final stop it lowers to the standard 750rpm. I could feel a slightly jerk forward as I'm braking when the car hits 1200rpm as I'm holding the brake down.

Has anyone had a similar issue?

2) There is a annoying rattling noise I hear from the glove box area on the dash. Do you the dealer will take care of this?

3) When I'm at a stand still at a light sometime I hear a vibration from the padding on the driver's door. I'll ask the dealer about this too.

4) there are a couple of CD's stuck in the car so the dealer is replacing the CD Player for free. The sales guy said there is a IPOD connection in the car, but I don't see this. Is this where the Auxillary connection is?

The Transmission shifts to 1st gear when it does this in case you have a rolling start. I think this is normal.

Yup, sounds like normal downshifting...

the AUX input is in your center console BTW (along with a power plug)... it's not an ipod interface exactly, you can plug anything into it (including an ipod)

Thanks for the replies!

this somewhat odd downshifting could be the reason the brake pads pick up excessive dust. my front wheels after 2 days of driving are blackened.

yeah excessive dust... everyone gets that

You should try looking into the low dust brake pads the dealers also have. that might do the trick from getting 2 days worth of dirty wheels.

I get those annoying rattles also. I took it to the dealer, and my car was there for about a week to fix the rattle because they have to take out the dashboard and put some teflon insulation. Low and behold after a week of fixing the rattle, its still there! its a common issue most 2IS with these annoying rattles.

Step 1. Take car to dealership and report you have excessive front brake dust.

Step 2. Tell dealer you've heard there's a service bulletin to fix this issue and you'd like it applied.

Step 3. Profit! (well, free low-dust brake pads anyway)

Oh that sucks, but at least they tried to fix it! I'll ask the dealer on Monday to work on it. thanks for letting me know

Get the low dust brake pads for sure. Ever since I got them installed on my car the wheels are holding up a lot better than before.

Just a warning about the free low dust pads...

I am sure for most of us they will be fine but if anyone is taking their IS to the track DO NOT GET THESE PADS!

I signed up for a 2 day track event with my previous BMW and at the last minute it was out of commission so I brought the IS350 instead. I had recently got the free low dust pads and ate them ALL up on the track! They are no where as good as the stock pads in terms of heavy braking and longevity while being abused on a track. I then had to buy another set of pads the next day, where if I never changed them in the first place I would still have some life left on the stock pads!

Excellent point! I'll definitely do that.

For the rattle... Wedge a piece of 1/4 inch hose in between the dash and the windshield. That will take care of it. I had mine at the dealer 3 times for the same thing and it was never fixed.
