I think that's wrong. I recall the NAVI-1 and NAVI-2 designations were just for the face paint color. NAVI-1 has the '06-08 color paint and the NAVI-2 is for the '09+ color, which is a bit darker I believe.

Features are the same except for the 2nd generation they moved the cooling fan to the top."

Since i'm a 2009 guess i'm out of luck both ways.. but if the features are the same then i don't mind. What alarms me is i remember someone on this forum who also got the unit for his 2009 did not get the new features. Guess I have to wait until i find out.
Panda, man I hope it works out for you.

anyone have any recommendations for installers in the LA/OC area? i wanted to get the backup camera installed as well, and since that requires drilling, i'd rather not attempt to do it myself.

If you use Flyaudio camera, you don't have to drill. You can route the wire through the trunk button or the license plate lights. That's what I did first, but I'm kinda OCD and decided to buy an OEM looking camera. Drilling sounds scary, but it's not that difficult.

I would install it myself as its very easy to do, and have the wires for the back up camera ready for the stereo shop. You save big if you stall the head unit your self. I was going to have a local shop install it for me and after asking around no one here in the Miami area was would install it for no less than $250.

After looking at other CL members post I decided to do it myself and save the money.

If you go to FlyAudios main site it looks like they have changed the part numbers. Now 2006-2008 the new number is FA039A01 and 2009-2011 it's FA039A02

sighh... so what do you guys think? should i just keep the 1st gen or return it and get the 2nd gen from CLT? i'm gonna get hit with restocking fee and border taxed which means probably another $500 more.

how bad is the 1st gen for a Canadian user?

IMHO I would call CLT and explain your situation, you never know how he can help you out. Good luck man

The only issue I have is that the temp is displayed inaccurately in climate control. It says Fahrenheit, but it's actually the 20 degrees higher than the Celsius temp.

Can anyone verify that this is applicable to the 1st Gen units? My understanding is that the old units had no support.
