The item is made in China but the flyaudio company originated in Taiwan. I know this because before they had US distribution I heard about this system and I had my buddy in Taipei call their head office to enquire about compatibility with US/Can models. At the time the problem was that they didn't have N. American map software.
As a native Taiwanese I have to say though that Taiwanese companies have just as bad a reputation as Mainland Chinese companies....
It's as though we paid a lot of money to be their beta-testers for a few months.....

Hi guys, I am new to CL and I am glad I found this site. I just bought a 2007 Lexus IS 250 and I was looking at the fly audio navigation system as my only solution to my navigation-less vehicle. I have read most of the pages on this topic but I am still not sure about this purchase. If you own a fly audio system, do you think it was worth the price? I mean, 1600 bucks is a lot of money and I think this system still has some flaws. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I wonder if automax is gonna have a sale any time soon... .

Hey guys, I am still here! We are busy getting ready for the Pursuit 2, but I am always around to answer questions and help out where I can. Let me know if anyone needs anything.

Wow...and here I was saving up to get this and was soooo close to having enough. I think if anyone here should be outraged it should be Automax. He'll be losing more than a few sales over this.
Oh well. Back to looking on ebay for an OEM nav system.

So I finally got my backup camera from ebay. It took about 2.5 weeks to get. Anyways, its a fairly decent camera for the price and super slim.
Be sure to measure, measure again, and measure 1000x times before you drill unlike i did and get the camera off centered.
The camera physically is really nice and sleek. Picture is about the same as the one that came with the unit. The only thing I dont like about this camera is the park lines embedded into the picture. Also, I liked the angle of the original camera better
Overall, I am happy with the way it looks.
Just Testing it out when I first got it.
