just found another problem... im not getting much luck with this, the igo8 software i use
now it shows an error message,
"Previous instance of iGO 8 has not finished exiting yet. Please try again in a few seconds or soft-reset your device"
i have waited for an hr, format and reload all original files back to the sd card and it still doesnt work, anyone has a solution?

run the original GPS software then turn the system off. Take the SD card out and insert the SD card w/ iGo.

i had the same problem of igo 8 doing that to me as well..

I made a list of what I did to make it work without the old software..

1. remove sd card
2. press setup
3. press next
4. press reset
5. start gps software (press gps)
6. press menu
7. plug sd card back in
8. open gps software (press gps)
9. click ok when asked to reset

This is caused when you cut power to the unit (usually by turning the car off) before the software fully loads. Delete the 'SAVE' folder on the SD card and restart. You'll have to set up all your preferences again, but this is the only way to remedy this issue. If you're going to be moving the car a short distance (or you're going to be working on the car) either let iGO fully load or take the card out so it doesn't load at all.

There's a slight delay from when you push the USB interface button to when the button lights up - it's not immediate.

now the software is loading again,
but i realised i lost my option to select the voice warning when driving over the limit and speed cameras alert.
also it can not find my gps receive... sigh...

actually i just got everything working just as it was before
but im starting to wonder if i need to update the bio in order to get the gps running at 800x480?
also when you guy connect the usb to your laptop, does it show up as a drive?
