i guess thats the part that confuses me. I can never find a menu that says "aux" and when i try the disk/aux button it seems to just mirror the av that switches through all the different options

Few questions for you:
What file format did you compress in?
Do the RCA inputs on the rear allow video to be played using those while the vehicle is in motion?
Is the rear camera on a separate RCA for its input?
And finally .... (lol)... Does the unit play mp4 files via USB and/or SD card ... Or even play mp4s at all lol
Thanks for all the help .. This will help in deciding if I'm going to purchase this unit!

If I recall, the files were AVIs. I forgot, since I haven't encoded anymore now that I use my iPhone to play videos.
The videos do play while the vehicle is in motion, as long as you turn off the "brake check" option in settings.
The unit comes with a separate RCA input for the rear camera.
I don't know if the unit will play mp4s, I've never tried. Like I said, now that I use my iPhone for video I don't bother encoding anything in a format other than those that are best for the iPhone.
