the range is from 36 F to 62 F which is not even close to where the stock range on the climate controls was. I think stock was 65 F to 85 F before it would kick in the HI/LO.
i dont mind so much the ipod control, whatever it works, but it seems like im stuck with their crappy upgraded bios which has the wrong F climate ranges and the wrong FM radio frequencies.
I was really hoping that they would have fixed these issues already, but i guess im just stupid for buying the "older" generation unit without checking if it was fixed.

Originally Flyaudio shipped these with the default temp setting to Celsius. Then all the American buyers whined about it so Flyaudio changed it in the software update, but instead of making it an optional choice, it made Fahrenheit the unchangeable default, which is fine for the Americans but not for Canadians. And by doing so, it messed up some sort of communication with the reading on our cars, so it's not even real Fahrenheit. It's more like Celsius + 20.
I'm waiting to see if any Canadian owners buy the 2nd gen unit to report to us whether that's been fixed or not...

FlyAudio 2nd Gen Screen Shots
The more I play around with my new 2nd gen FlyAudio navigation, the more I love this thing!
Here are some screen shots
1) My Original iphone, the address book only shows numbers. I think that I need a new phone!
2) iphone 4, now the address book works the way it should, by name and phone number
3) Incoming call showing caller name and phone number
4) Here is the ipod interface
5) More ipod search feature
6) More ipod search feature, by artist
7) More ipod search feature, by track
8) More ipod interface
Like I've said before FlyAudio's new 2nd Generation Is unit, was worth waiting for, hands down much better from what I have seen. They really updated the key features that people where asking for.
I have to say that David, from car light trends was great to deal with, and I would definitely recommend him and his site

Early on in this thread we had some great computer whizzes playing around with the system. I would call upon those whizzes again to see if they can hack a copy of the 2nd gen flyaudio software and retrofit onto the first gen systems!! (Pwetty Pweeze!!!)

i would pay for this.....better than spending 2k on a new unit after just buying the first generation unit which im having to currently restrain myself from ripping out and running over.

Mine showed up, but didn't response when I push the icon on the screen.

Doesn't look like there's a clock where the factory one was.
Also, not a big deal but just noticed it: The bottom right "button" is a cover for the microSD card. Ours say "AV IN". I think this one says "CARD". Besides that the front looks identical to the Gen 1.

im ready to cry.....the stupid climate control ranges are totally screwed up also.
im so upset with this unit, its not even funny. not only do i feel like i just blew 2 grand but right now i just wanna rip the unit out, toss it in the trash and reinstall my stock no nav unit.
was there ever any firmware upgrades or software fixes for this, i read through almost all of the pages on this thread and it seems like the automax guys promised upgrades and whatnot and nothing was ever done about the issues.
oh man, im pissed

Does yours have the cooling fan on the back like mine? Because if not its not the 2nd gen flyaudio unit, you might want to check with who ever sold it to you.
