Default blue tint for fog lights

Does anyone here have the blue tint for their fog lights? If so, can you post pics of how it looks, preferably at night. I want to get those for my car but not sure how it looks with the fog lights on. I just installed 6k HIDs and blue city lights and want something to match.

i have blue tint on my fog lights, but its hardly noticeable with the fogs being turned on at night. daytime it is best seen. if you prefer to have a tint color showing, i think yellow or even pink (yes, some run pink) show up nicely.

I have the blue overlays from Aerotect and they don't turn the light blue. Instead they filter the yellow OEM bulbs and turn them whiter. Now that I have the Volt kit from Xenondepot they make the light a tad bluer

+1, but just an FYI...

myth: the higher the "k", the brigher the bulb/HID kit.
fact: the higher the "k", the less useable light output.

fyi, the "k" is a measurement of color temperature in degrees kelvin that determines the hue (read: gradation/variety of a color) of the light source.

(courtesy of xenondepot.com/jaguarforums.com)

as you move along the "k" scale curve from left to right, you'll see that there is an increase in light output, peaking somewhere between 2000k and 2500k. personally, i don't know why manufacturers don't use that color temperature, but from an aesthetic point of view i'm glad they didn't... but i digress.

the stock 4300k for the oem D4S bulbs for the 2is is right on the border between white and yellow, but has more light output than most popular D4S bulb temperatures (6000k/8000k/10,000k). however, for aesthetic's sake, the 4300 still has a hint of yellow, so you'll have to go with a higher color temperature to get that white/blue-ish tint. and of the popular D4S bulb temperatures, 6000k has the most optimal mix of color and useable light.

in short, i agree w/ L-S-D: for the best color/useable light mix, i'd go with 6000k.

I had the Aerotect blue fog overlays, but removed them recently. If you're using standard OEM bulbs, the blue overlays do provide a HID look. It casts a blue light and will "almost" match your 6000K in the looks dept.

I removed the overlays since I have 6000K fog HIDS. When I had the overlays on, it made the light too blue. After removing it the illumination area was enlarged and the light was more usable. In fact, I've had incoming vehicles high beam me since it's that much brighter. In the photo below, the light appears bluier than it actually is.

If you want to match your 6000K headlights perfectly, go with HID fogs for looks and functionality.

nice explanation,,it's a good summary of what you need to know
if you want more light output from your fogs,,definitely go with 6000k
but depending on what brand you get, 8000k is also good IMO

and if you want the most light output when it's foggy and raining...
get the 3000k..you won't regret it

changing the bulbs will only change the color of the light output.

as oem fog lights use 9006 halogen bulbs, you will have to install a 9006 HID conversion kit to get HID fogs.

here's a link to xenondepot/KBcarstuff for 9006 HID conversion kits:
