all these ppl that throw the word 'classy' around, i would love to see pics of their rides, post um up ![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
As for the 6k vs 3k, its all personal preference. 6k low + 6k fog has a draw back thou, you MUST install the ALL the 6ks at the SAME TIME and ALWAYS USE THEM TOGETHER, do not use the 6k fogs only when you feel you need to use them... why? they wont match as the bulbs go thru their life cycle if you burn them at uneven times.
With 3k you wont have the 'matching' problem.
As for useable lite, the 3k will allow you to see better in various weather conditions better than 6k.
As for ppl calling yellow fogs rice... i've been using yellow fogs in my cars since 1984 even before the word rice was used for 'the car scene', because it was the JDM look... you guys have a lot to learn yet but dont worry you came to the right forum to learn![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
oh yea, so you gonna call all those pure 24hr endurance race cars IMSA/ALMS and Baja/Paris to Dakar cars that use 3k hid lighting 'rice'?

[O/T]It's annoying to hear/see people say how 3k is ricey. They must not know the heritage of the earlier Lexus line-up which has always been classy that used 3k temp. lights/fogs such as(as far as I remember): 1st gen LS(actually inner headlamps), 2nd gen ES's, 2nd(maybe 1st too?) gen GS's, and 1st gen IS300(ahem, what our IS' should have kept). Plus it's not unusual to see vehicles like non-luxury domestic brand(older years at that) cars and SUV's that have 6K headlamps/6k fogs too, so that cheapens the "classy" look as well.[/O/T]

funny, i would have thought that at 4300k you'd see a distinct yellow cast.. thank you, that means that actually 5000k is a better "match" than 6000k.
This is off topic somewhat but if you switch your DRL/highs to a 5000k HID using a conversion kit... it's not like you're going to be driving around during the day high beaming everyone right? The current that is delivered during the day is apparently lower to the halogen... so does that mean your DRL would also be lower during day and higher when needed for high beam use?

All I was trying to say is that I prefer the 6k. I do understand the heritage and history of the 3k, but the yellow's just not my cup of tea. I really think the yellow fogs ruin the luxury look of the 2IS. However, if thats what you like...great, buy it. It's just my personal opinion that buying a 40 plus thousand dollar car and putting the same yellow fog lights that you see on riced out hatch backs...looks retarded. I guess I just prefer the clean, grown up look of the 6k at the end of the day over the 3k. Again, its all about personal preference and I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Hey Joshuajj, at the end of every arguments/opinions will come to the term "personal preference".
The original intend of the post is about light visibility/usable, for the purpose of safety. But some got lost in look preferences...end thread.
