i have the same problem after someone pointed it out for me. the inner side of my front driver's side is pretty worn down after 24k+ miles. an alignment (or camber) should level it out.

OK
Talked to the dealer. According to them, when my IS is in proper alignment, it will wear the inside edges of the front tires more rapidly. Also, mileage expectation on the stock Bridgestones is 15-25. So what I've experienced is normal.
I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus at the recommendation of the manager of the Discount Tire location I've used for years. In the past he has been spot on regarding tire suggestions on other "problem" tire vehicles I've had.
This model has a 45000 mile warranty. According to the Lexus dealer, I will never get near that on any tire I put on the front of the IS, so we'll see how well they hold up.
With road hazard, tax, and all the other fees... out the door at Discount Tire I paid $575.00 for the pair.
Initially, they are noticeably quieter and feel much smoother, the car actually seems to coast much freer than it did the Bridgestones.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

Just as a heads up I replaced my fronts with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. The sidewalls are stiffer than the RE050 oem. The ride is stiffer than I expected for Michelin tires.
I had the same problem with the tires as well. Wore it down to the cords at 19k ugh! Get it aligned when you have new tires put on. I bought my tirerack.com with a preferred installer. I think it would have gone with the P2 instead. Good luck

I hate bringing to life old threads but the same happened to me. Only difference was the thread peeled off like spaghetti and was beating up my wheel well. Funny thing was, it was only my front driver wheel. Others wearing normally...
