Default thinking of getting IS 350, any advice?

unfortunately, it looks like my 08 M3 will have to go

could be worse, I got to enjoy it for 30,000 miles

have narrowed it down and an IS350 is one of the final choices... any words of wisdom? the best people to ask about it are the ones who own them.

My only real concern is the back seat. I'm sure you all went through this and some of you may never need the back, I have a 6 y.o. which should be fine but every once and a while I have to put an adult back there, is this possible?

anything else I need to know?

thanks!

The IS 350 IS a really nice Cars. Very quiet straight out of the factory. I currently own an '09 IS 350 (Silver). Ive had a full car many times as in 5 people, 3 in the back, and 2 in the front. Its not very crowded, but if you like 6 feet tall, you might be a little cramped. Over all its a reall decent car, im happy with it, its one of the best, actually first car ive ever owned. If your going to miss the performance of the m3 though, i would suggest going straight to the F. The is 350 is only automatic and comes with gear limiters, not paddle shifters. Non the less i love my car. If you need any pics of the back or any part of the car, i will be more than happy to provide you with some. Tommarow, im actually making a video of my whole car...

the back seat is a little cramp on our IS. Im fairly small so usually people dont have a problem sitting behind me, but i have seen many other people over 6 ft saying that there is almost no room in their backseats.

and may i ask why your selling your m3?

thanks for the tips so far.

I am only getting rid of it because I cannot afford to keep it anymore.

I will certainly miss it and I know the IS nor any of my choices (that I can afford) will compare but the money is most important right now.

I would love to see some pics of the back seat and perhaps someone in the back seat, if someone has handy.. I am not big, maybe 5'7" so I think I'll be fine, just seems real tight back there for anyone bigger than me. I guess it's not a big deal, other than that the IS seems to be a great choice. I drove one before I got my 335 and almost pulled the trigger, I remember it to be very smooth and very quick. Interior is second to none. Maybe I need another test drive to remind me lol....

yea the is350 is totally not a bad choice!
i have a 06 350 myself. the performace for sure nots going to be like the M3 but its good enough. still over 300+ hp tho =P
the back seats is a bit tiny but if your friends are just like mine. they will all fit since we all about 5 8 and etc =] (typical asian) lol
but for sure you probably would miss your m3
the closest bet for you is the IS-F

^^ Yeah i have to agree. Everyone in my car when i had a packed car ranged from 5'2- 5'10 and they didnt have a problem. Just one suggestion.

F sport Exhaust + F sport intake. Trust me you will love it. The car is too quiet without these.

I'm 6'1", people shorter than 5'7" usually have no problem sitting behind me. With 4 people in the car its a little cramped, although not unbearable.

Do you have another vehicle with bigger back seat? How often will you carry adults in the back seat if you have an IS? aske those 2 question may help you making decision.

If you are near 6 ft., the back seat is useless! A better choice is the G37.

Not wanting to second guess your financial situation......but why go to a Lexus? Perhaps you should consider a less expensive automobile and then, when things perk up financially you can go back to the M3. There are many very nice, reliable cars available that are not near as pricey as an IS350. Just a thought from an old man.

get the IS 350. coming from a m3, you'll always wanna go back, but you can't do anything about it i guess. u'll be satisfied for sure with the IS 350. speed, luxury, and reliability. : D good luck!

wish we had more room in the back seat.. coulda made the car like 5 inches longer just for more leg room in the back.. i'm only 5'8 but theres barely any leg room for anyone who sits behind me.. i'd actually love to have a is350.. faster and reliable.. it's not like i speed or race but the 250 feels laggy.. and it sucks.
