My battery died yesterday and I had to call Lexus Roadside Assistance for a jump. I had parked at a grocery store after work and was on the phone for only about 5 minutes with my engine off but lights on. The guy tested my battery and said it was shot.
I remember reading on here a while back that the OEM battery is pretty underpowered. I wanted to get a more suitable one, though I know nothing about batteries. So I need to know what kind of specs to be looking for.
I tried search but it's pretty useless, unless I want to replace the remote battery.
Thanks.

yea, got my battery replaced yesterday under warranty. Did not check what type they replaced it with, but I assume it was probably the same and should go at least another 50K miles.

did my research and found out its either hate it or love it for Optima batteries.
i actually have talked with local sears supervisors and sears actually replaced Optima brand batteries with DieHard Platinum series batteries.
also well known brand Odyssey batteries actually make DieHard brand. (correct me if i'm wrong)
i currently have DieHard Automotive Battery, Platinum P-6 - Group Size 25

Yup. They seem to especially hurt when they sit for long periods of time. If you daily drive your car then an Optima is fine. If it sits for weeks at a time, then I wouldn't recommend one.

I am using Optima yellow-top for a long time because I have custom sound system setup, but I am only driving the car once per week. I had to replace the yellowtop every 10 to 11 months because I dont drive the car that offten, but it was always warranty by Costco for free swap.
Well... now Costco back out the Optima line ($200 range) because "high defective rate" according to the manager at tire dept (San Jose, CA), so I am moving onto the Odyssey battery ($300 range).
According to most feedback in my research, the YellowTop should be good for load application, and the RedTop line ($150 range) is a quality-build but standard battery only.
Is Odyssey better? I am testing it out for the first time and I am getting mine today. There are many legendary saying about Odyssey batteries, but I guess I have to try it out before I can make comment on it.
If you are just looking for a regular bettery, good price and performance, just use an Interstate battery ($100 range). It is recommended by most of the street shops, and I am sure it is better than most average betteries you can find.
FYI,
