damn! so u sent 3000 just for the hid controller? O.o or 1500 for both? damn thats expensive but i just bought my car tho i can return the car still if i wanted to so it should still be under warranty know?
it happened to me last year..i had tons of water in my headlight housing and the dealer void my warranty due to i have aftermarket lights so i was like whatever...first of all if you are covered by warranty, they will repalce the whole headlight housing including the ballast. In my case, it was just the ballast so tommy from musicbox took care of it...as the matter of fact, he'll do the my driver side this week, theres tons of moisture inside of my headlight unit and i believe the ballast is affected. So now, im looking for a ballast and i'll take it tommy and hell take care of the rest...
chris can u help me out if the dealer doesnt replace it?! hahah pleaseee
first of all im assuming you have OEM hid light (no aftermarket lights or what so ever in the headlight housing unit), take it to the dealer and let them deal with it. If it was the ballast, the whole unit comes with it. If it was just the bulb then, its just the bulb...for the fog light, same thing. "make you sure no aftermarket parts in there, coz they'll use that against you..." i dont know his screen name...but if theres alot of water inside the unit, its gotta be the ballast, but check the bulb, just in case...THE BOTTOM LINE IS, MOISTURE AND WATER IN THE HEADLIGHT UNIT MUST BE TAKEN CARE OF...AND TOMMY IS THE PERSON I RECOMMEND, BECAUSE HE DID A GREAT JOB ON MY PASSENGER SIDE, HE'LL GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE SURE YOUR UNIT WORKS..AND HE'LL DO MY DRIVER SIDE this coming week..the dealer that i went to is here in the SFV..keyes van nuys...good luck!!!
lol. make life easy on yourself and just bring it to the dealership, you're just going round and round asking the same questions that a service advisor could easily answer for you.
Go to your friggin' dealership and get it fixed. They have to fix it, no ifs ands or buts.
actually, only if the issue in question is/can be covered under warranty. if there are signs of tampering or altering (i.e. switching to aftermarket bulbs), the OP is on his own.
seeing as to how he swapped out foglight bulbs, he's on his own for the foglight housing. the dealership will NOT touch that unless they're paid to do so.

calling the corporate only works in cases where the actual warranty still applies. as such, see the above response.
