Default Lexus Newbie Needs Some Honest Opinions

I am fairly new to Lexus & CL. I bought a 2007 GS350 in September and recently had the brilliant idea to trade it in for a 2009 IS250 (which I currently have). My wife and I enjoyed the GS so much that we bought her a 2010 RX last week. What I need help with: I have the opportunity to get a tremendous deal on a 2006 GS300 (low miles, great condition, GREAT price). Do I keep the IS250 and have some fun with it or get into the GS300? All constructive opinions welcome! Thanks for your help!

Welcome to CL, keep your IS, you'll take a bath trying to unload a 2009. Be happy with what you have, good luck !

2007 gs350, 2009 is250, 2006 gs300?

If you don't have any problems about the size of the car, keep the IS250.

It depends what you mean by "fun with the IS250". If you're looking for performance, it might disappoint. I'm not too familiar with the 06 GS, but I would imagine that it offers more space and size than an IS250. If this is important, than the GS wins.

If I were you, I would not trade in the GS350. But since you already did and have a 2010 RX350, I would keep the IS250 and have fun until the next gen GS/IS coming out. I think both GS and IS are almost due for next gen.

06 GS means less performance and outdated navi.. other than little more space compared to IS, not sure if you will be happy considering you had 07 GS before..

The 3GS is older than the 2IS by one year I think.

For German cars such as Mercedes/BMW, their model cycle is usually 7 years, I think for Lexus, it is around 5/6 years.

most of the mercedes/bmw line is 5/6 years.
Audi use to be 6, but i think they are down to 4 or 5 depending on vehicle.

Lexus is 5 years.

the 06 GS doesnt offer considerably larger room compared to the IS, nor is the nav system as close as the 09. i say stick with the IS. the 09 IS a pretty sweet ride, and though i cant compare it to the 06 GS aside from the lack of performance as is, i say keep the IS.
