i believe cars are supposed to idle around 1k rpm. should i be concerned?

typically, when i start my car, it idles between 500-1000 rpm. older cars, from what ive noticed, idles at around 1000-1250 rpm. dont know why that is. maybe because it hasnt been started for awhile, lack of driving, or whatever reason.

How long does it take for your cars to get to normal operating tem.
Mine seems like it takes for ever in temps of around 36F. i try to let it sit for 5 - 10 mins and the needle barely moves.
Another thing the engine sounds like a corolla engine while its warming up

well wpouldn't tht be bad for the the belts and wouldn't they crack if the temp is below 32F. another thing the sound of the car is really bugging me. I heard my friends g35 has a great exhaust note. I ve had two BMWs in the pand those sound awesome for some reason lexus just didn't get the exhaust note right on this one.
Anyone else agree atleast on the 250
