45K service? and Brakes Q's
Im due for a 45K service here soon. What do they really do?
Is it worth it?
I skipped the 40K service i just had them do a oil change.
Another thing the dealer wants almost $400 to resurface the rear rotors and brake pads. maybe its just me but sounds a little much any other suggestions.
and any better brake pads then the OEM ones out there that i could use.
and anyone in the KC area know of a good mechanic.

They will always over price you but talk down the price. i think my friend got the left rotor for $110 and the right rotor for $120 around there, Hope this help so you wont be over paying.

Are you sure your rear brakes actually need work? Your fronts do most of the braking, and 45k seems awfully early to need rears. Even less likely your rotors need any work.
45k you'd need an oil change, and clean the engine and ac filters... that's it.
60k is the "big" one, where you'll be doing brake fluid (as you should have at 30k) and spark plugs in addition to changing the engine/ac filters and the oil.

As far as i go the braking isn't as good as it was a few months ago. I need to find a good mechanic that can look at the rotors and let me know.
But where in Kansas City do i find a good mechaninc im new to the city.

do not have them do your rotors. as stated above you can buy brand new rotors for the price that they listed. also, if you have to get them resurfaced, take it to a reputable indy shop, it costs around 15 dollars on the outside to resurfaced a rotor. you can tell if your rotors need resurfacing by running your finger across it. if its really uneven, then you need to have it resurfaced. if the lip between the edge of the rotors and the rotor surface itself is really big, then you'll probably need new rotors.
