Rough start-up this morning
Hello All,
My car ('06, IS250, 60K) sat in the garage for 2 days and when I started it up this morning, the car was shaking and the RPM was jumping up and down between 500 and 1K for about 5 seconds before the engine shut down.
On the second start up, it fired up with some hesitation, the RPM was low again for about 3 seconds later the needle climbed up to 1.5K RPM and then the engine went through a normal warm-up cycle.
What could cause this?
Thanks.

Many things can cause that --- temperature sensor, MAF....
My guess is that it has something to do with the air-fuel ratio not being correct.
Probably your engine computer issued some trouble codes as that happened, such as "engine lean", or "MAF reading out of range", etc. Best to take it in and have them scan for trouble codes. Some trouble codes make it pretty obvious what the root problem is, but sometimes they have to do more investigation as to what the root problem is.
Some trouble codes will cause the "check engine" light to turn on, others will not. I think that basically depends on if you would be increasing emmisions.

Thanks Steve
There is no "check engine" light on...
As the engine eventually warmed up, I drove 40 miles to work with no issues. I just called my mechanic and he says it's most likely mosture in the fuel lines. He advised to used some fuel additives. Hope this issue will not happen again.
