Default Wheels on my IS350

iam looking to lower me car with the f springs and then looking to put some 20s, iam thinking of putting 20x8.5 in the front and 20x10 in the back, has anyone had any problems with this? tires rubbing the wheel well? iam also not sure what size tires to put on, any ideas?

It depends what tire size as well as the offset that you are running. I'm lowered on stech and I was running 20x8.5 front 20x10 rear 245 30 20 and 285 25 20 and in the front when I went through a dip it rubbed like crazy, to the point where the bumper meets the fender was messing up. I could've jus fixed it and buy skinner tires such as 235 30 20 or 225 30 20. But decided to go with 19s the ride is way better and smoother.

I was thinkings 19s because it wont make the car look like a 4x4 with 20s.

I have to see what wheels i want tho. Thanks for the info.

Take a look at Vossen wheels, I plan to buy a set for the is350 in the spring time. I already bought a set for my rx350 in the Dominican Republic which I sent over there should receive them in middle Jan

20" wheels are not friendly in 2IS. It is not recommended unless you enjoy a stiff ride.

i agree with josephdoc. 20's are not ideal. 19's fit alot better and ride quality is better as well.

20's work fine for me and look absolutely great. no rubbing issue as long as the front wells are remolded with a heat gun. ride quality on 19's is going to be slightly better but i dont think it's a huge difference.

mine are 20x9 and 20x10.5

it depends on your offset

Yeah, 20's just cover more wheel gap but you still look high off the ground. I think 19's are perfect for our cars and if you want to cover wheel gap with 19's, get more aggressive settings.

you should be good with offsets around 35 and 40 like iialcii said, just make sure and run the right tire sizes and drop the car a little, then put a lip kit on and it will look good!

Looks like 19s with a drop is the best way to go.

Now that hard part is choosing the wheel.

well it all depends on how low you wanna roll.. Check out the photoshoot i did earlier this week on the other thread. Im rolling on 20x9 F, 20x10.5 hellaflush and really aggressive.. Im drop on Tanabe coilovers and it rides really smooth. Yes i rub here and but i love the aggressive stance i have... GL with your choice.

It's all about the offset and size...

If you want a standard conservative set-up, then stick to the mid 40's offset... if you wanna get crazy then just ask the wheel guru's
