Default 2007 Lexus IS 350 vs Acura TL Type S

I'm in the market for a daily commuter and was thinking about the Lexus IS350, but I sat in it and it was a little tight for me. I'm 6'3", and was a little sadden that it might not be comfortable for my daily commute the sun visor is in my view and I need to hunch down slightly to get a good view even at the sits lowest setting. I'm going to go look at Acura TL's since I think the would be the the most comparable car.

Any thoughts?

im 6'1 n i dont have any room issues with my 07 is350. Did you lower the seat to the lowest settings? I do agree with you that it is a bit smaller than the TL. I test drove both cars when I was in the market for a new car. The IS 350 just felt faster due to the rear wheel drive design. The interior is also laid out better than the TL.

The TL has more interior room, but it felt like I was driving a honda accord or something. I think the TL also does not have an interior dash rattle problem that some 2IS may have. I have the rattle n am living with it for now, but i am sure the dealer can take care of it.

You are doing the right thing by test driving both cars. Go with the car that feels right for you. Good luck and let us know what u you decide on!

Are you talking about the new redesign TL? I'm not feeling the look of it, it looks too futuristic with so many sharp angles. The back of the car looks exactly like the front.

I'm 6'2 225 and I fit perfectly in my 250. I like to lean up most times and head doesn't touch visor/roof.

Nothing like a Lexus bro

Honestly you may be right. I'm 6'0" flat and I think my IS 350 fits me just perfectly I think. If I were 2-3 inches taller I can see myself having some issues with the size.

It all depends on your seating position. If you like to sit in a more upright position, the IS probably won't be the best choice given your height. If you like reclining a lot, then the IS will fit just fine you just have to find the sweet spot.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the G35 sedan as an option. Typically the Infiniti G35 and BMW 335i are considered bigger competitors to the IS350 than the TL, as they are all RWD.

i would say the g35 is a good comparison, and it does offer much more room. however the 335i might be a little out of the price range

yes the g35 is always the alternative solution. But I would go with the coupe then the sedan.

i'd say no TL's, get the G or 335 or even the A4. imo, Acuras are just over priced, and all those cars are > than Acura luxury and brand wise.

Get a GS, or G37 if you dont like how you fit in the IS. The TL is yuck.
