Default Who needs AWD in the snow? Heres my photoshoot

I live in LI, NY. Me and my friend drove up to Stratton, VT to go snowboarding yesterday. Left around 3:30am, got there by 7:45am. Temperature was around 10 degrees there and the local roads had snow on them. I have an FX35 AWD but it kind of needs brake pads and I just felt like driving the lexus so I took that.

Really surprised you didn't get stuck without dedicated winter tires... What brand all-season tires are you running?

I drove my car to Lake Tahoe for this weekend, with no chains or snow shoes...didn't have a problem either. My first time driving my car in snow, wasn't too bad.

Nice pics. I don't think the wheels look bad. If you do decide to get rims, make sure you keep your Oem rims so you wont devalue the car with aftermarkets.

Glad it has worked out for you so far. RWD and all-seasons is eventually asking for trouble in bad weather states...

i've slipped and slid in snow with my AWD is250...usually taking turns at slow speeds... even with Snow ECT on.
I have the normal allseason tires... had to drive thru about 140miles of heavy falling snow from Cleveland to Buffalo NY on my way back to toronto...
it was kind of scary having seen about 12 cars in the ditches off the I90
