Smile 2010 is 350 delivered!

Hey all,

Finally my car is here... brief run down...

2010 IS350
Navigation, Luxury Plus, 18" Wheels, Z1, Headlamp Washers, Rear lip spoiler

Black Sapphire Pearl, Black Leather.

Can't really see the pictures clearly, but since its my first intro post to the car, I gotta post some pics... More later...

Two sad things though... I was suppose to get the all weather floor mats, but they won't give it to me. Supposedly they have a redesigned version coming out very very soon. So they won't give me the old ones. Gotta wait for those new ones to come out. The other thing is... I found condensation in the fog lamps. BOTH of them! I can't believe it. I showed it to the guy and he brought it to the techs. They said it's ok. It won't be a problem. However, I made sure the sales manager know. I wanted it in writing so he wrote the note that "Customer took delivery w/ condensation in fog lamp."

They told me to come back whenever to have it replaced... I'll go back @ 1000 miles or sooner and get everything back. Kinda disappointing, but at least the wait is over..

On a scale of 1 - 10, I'll give it a 5. Hope the wait was worth it.

Sorry about the picture quality. Get better pics tomorrow when I have a camera.

Just some brief comments about the new HDD navigation. It's not bad at all! Quite snappy. The placement of the screen is debatable since I always find myself looking down to check the screen. It could definitely be louder. I probably can set that..

Bluetooth streaming is awesome. I can play Pandora on my Blackberry and it'll have AWESOME sound quality. I'll check out the iPod interface this weekend. All in all, very quiet car. Has potential.. I can feel it when I gas it...

Btw, do I need to break-in the engine? The sales rep says no... Not sure...

Dont beat the car for 5k. (You should beat your car at all) For the First 1k, Dont drive over 65 - 70, and dont stay at a constant speed, try to fluctuate. Dont listen to your Dealer. Nice Car? When do you think the mod bug will byte? Any ideas for future mods?

ooh..and welcome tot he club!

ah thats a buncha hogwash. most say the engine is already 'broken in' at the factory.

me? I WOT'd my IS350 all the time in hopes of opening up the engine. i've also heard this opens up the piston rings or something... but my guess is thats also a buncha hogwash too, so who really knows.

my theory, just drive your car like your normally would

congrats on the new ride! definitely make sure they fix the condensation problem. you were right to have them say "customer took deliver with fog light condensation". lexus had to repair the problem, and im glad they did when they did. i think it was worth the wait. personally, i love those rear view mirrors. cant wait to see your future mods. best of luck man!

on a side note, dont push your car too much till prolly 2500-5000 miles. it depends mainly where you drive (street, freeway). i drove my IS mainly on freeways, which made the break-in period shorter because there was no stagnant driving, no stop and go, no idling...it seems perfectly fine right now. no problems, and best of all, having no problems. sure my car is young, but still...i see some bmw 3 series and mb c classes with some tranny problems early on at the dealerships, so i have no regrets about choosing lexus over the previously said brands.

yea you dont need to break it in. All that not at a constant speed crap is for motorcycles. And the beating on it to open up the rings thing is from the 60's. Technology supercedes anything we do guys. They break the motors in before the cars get to us, basically nothing you do will change anything. I've beat multiple brand new cars right out of the dealer and never had an issue.

Whoops, sorry I meant to say that compared to the other cars I've driven w/ navigation.

Otherwise, the navigation position-wise is the same as previous years.
