I too was concerned about the hood closing. I asked my sales rep who promptly showed me the way. The hood is made of aluminum and requires you to shut it with aurthority when it's about a foot from being closed. Do it a couple of times and you're got it. NO problems....

Do you just let it go, do you you force it downward? I've tried (repeatedly) just letting it go and this does not work.

HaHa Ok I just looked under my hood for the first time and when I closed it I lightly brought it down till it clicked into the latch. then I feel really nervous to push the hood down with my hand, is it just me or am I just being a little girl and not pushing down hard enough I don't want to indent the hood by pushing on it.

Slam that shizzz. u'll do more damage closing it lightly and pushing to shut it. Open it up all the way and slam it, not very very hard though..

You need to slam it down or it will not close. This is the ONLY way to close the hood.

I was told how to best close our aluminum hoods by a freind of mine who is a body repair expert. He said just bring the hood about 12 inches (a ruler length) and then slam shut. it will be fine.

Slam it lol, if you dont, the Lexus service men/women will .

That's the best way. If you just let it drop on its own it won't close completely. You have to use a bit of downforce and just kind of throw it down. It doesn't take a lot of extra force.

i just bring it down so its about 1 -2 feet b/w the hood and latch and use my pinky to slam it shut,,,
