How to Change the Transmission Oil in my IS250?
#16
Just remember, the IS uses a special low viscosity "WS" fluid. If any other fluid is used, you WILL have issues. The only other fluid that I know of, that can be used is this;

Transmission fluid change for 2007 GS 350
I decided to change mine fluid this Saturday. There is no way the viscosity has held up. If Canadian Lexus have it in their manual to change it at 60,000 I'm certainly going to do mine with 170,000 0n it. My goal is to reach 300,000.

I changed transmission fluid and replaced the filter at 108'000km's. Oil was black watery and burnt. No way its lifetime fluid. I'm guessing by lifetime they mean 100'000km's not 300'000 plus haha. Ideally i would change every 50'000km's. Gear changes are now smooth and quick compared to before. Its such a shame they built a gearbox that has to be split open just do general maintenance. I managed to remove about 3.75 litres by removing the pan and filter then i did the same thing again about a week later. I'm going to do this once a year now that i know how easy it is to do.

So I have a 08 is350 with 108k miles, I've been reading the threads and seeing that every1 says it's best not to do a trans flush, but really what is the cons to going through with it (and not through the dealership).

Transmission fluid replace & refill.
I had a mechanic drain the pan (2.75 qts) and with a hand pump he refilled 2.75 qts. This was done 3 different times. I now have 189000 miles and my gs 350 is running fine.

At my oil change, I did a transmission drain and fill on my lexus is250, 180,000 miles. It drained out 4 quarts and I replaced 4 quarts. All fluid was black and burnt. At my next oil change, would you recommend draining 4 quarts transmission fluid again?

Definitely since it was black and burnt. The manual claims lifetime transmission fluid so I would say you make the choice. I have had mine done at least 4 times and I have 207,500 miles.
