Default Oil Maintainence Required Message On Display

I've used the search. That advice in the threads doesn't work. I have held the trip meter button down and then pressed the start button. Doesn't make the message go away.

I have pressed the start button once, then held down the trp meeter button as I pressed the start button again. Message still does not go away.

Anybody got anything??? Thanks.

Got it. The key is making sure that the odometer is not on the trip display but the actual mileage display. Thanks RPMSteve.

How about posting the complete answer to your question so that everyone will know instead of a partial answer that came from a private PM. Thanks.

The link to instructions on resetting the oil maintenance indicator are in the FAQ thread stickied at the top of forum. The link in that thread is very comprehensive, and covers the issue that the original poster was having.

No, you want it to be set to total vehicle miles, not to either of the trip settings.

Then maybe you should have deleted the entire thread with that message instead of allowing a partial answer to be posted.
