Default Newbie Question about RIM, please help!

so im buying a new IS 250 2007 charcoal gray tomorrow. 37k miles with nav for $23.5k, w/out ML sound.

I just did some research and eventually found an interesting different on the rim. the rims on the 07 and 06 have plain silver color. the 08, and maybe above, has a darker gray color, pretty close to the color on the is-f rim. Im talking about the stock rim.

im planning on upgrade to the color of the 08 rim. Do you think it's possible? how much for that service? Where should I do to keep cost minimal? Is there a way I can do the job myself?

06-07 is silver. While the 08 is graphite. You can buy the rims and swap it yourself. Have you try searching for aftermarket rims?

u can always wait for a CL member sell their stock wheels. Its always at a reasonable price. u then take it to your local wheel shop to put them on.

or if your dealership has an 08 in stock, they can swap the wheels for u. GL

As said by Joshis408, get them powder coated. Its pretty cheap and the color looks better IMO. GL.

Here ya go-
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/whe...d-tires-4.html

He's in CA, appears to be asking $650 with good tires on em.

Then you can sell your 07 ones and get most of that $ back.

thx Kurtz! I really appreciate your search!

btw, is his price $650 for 1 wheel or for all 4? if for each then I have to spend about $2500, thats way too much.

I say just powder coat your own wheels instead of searching for anothe set. They should run you around 150 each wheel.. btw the color of the car is called Smokey Granite Mica also known as "SGM".. GL
