So basically i bought 2 items for this project. A iPhone 3G Universal Dock Adapter and a Kensington LiquidAUX.
Total cost about $70.
As you can see the dock is press fit into my ashtray. Take a dremel and slot it where it needs be from the ash tray. As for the space from the dock to the bottom of the ashtray i used some plastic materials i had around. For myself i used some of my kimber mag bumper.![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The ashtray has a window on the side of it. Pop it out and you can run the wires from the liquidaux cable through this hole. Oh yeah plug the LiquidAUX from your center arm rest compartment, drill a hole (so you can run the cable out of the compartment) and run the wires to the ashtray.
For the iPhone connector, shave the plastic sides of the connector till it fits flush on the bottom of the dock, then glue. I believe that should be it.
So far im fairly happy with the mount. Yes the phone will wiggle a bit when driving. Its not a 100% secured mount for your iPhone. But so far after driving on poorly paved roads we have in Hawaii, its holding up quite well.

I love how a total of about 2 out of 6 million 2IS owners actually use the ashtray for ASHES.
Looks good, I did a mount in my cup holder a few years ago but I didn't like the viewing angle or how "stuck" it was, so I dremeled a slot to pass the cable through the center cup holder and the iPhone sits in there perfectly - plus it has the flexibility for me to pick it up and dial if need be. Good work!
