lol there aren't really any performance modifications for the 2is beyond intake, exhaust, i think like 2 sets of headers?, and some superchargers that don't really give you any sort of gains for the price you're paying...

If youre looking for performance, dont get the 250. The 250 is for a more leisurely driving. If you're looking to fix it up to go fast then get a IS350. If you just want to fix a car then i wouldnt get a IS. Its not really performance mod friendly.

Because developing a new one from scratch is very expensive and nearly nobody buys manuals anymore anyway.

To the original poster- The 250 is pretty worthless for performance modification. Do not buy this car if your intent is to try and make it faster. Buy a 350. That will add over 100 hp for around $3500-4500. Nothing else you do for twice that cost will add half as much power to a 250.

(note: the 350 doesn't have much available for reasonable performance mods either, but you're starting out with a much faster vehicle so it doesn't need them as badly either.)

just test drive a 250 to see if you like it. no one can tell you if you'll like it or not until YOU try it.

to answer your question, i have a 250 mt, and I love it. the people that will tell you not to get it have probably have never driven one.

technically, it should be cheaper than an auto, but since they only made about 1000 per year, it's hard to find.

use cars.com, that's where i found mine for my '06 is250, with 10,000 mi, for $20,600 back in '09.

If you're in the LA OC area, is350 is worthless with so many cars and chp on the road.

I love my 6MT... but the others are right in that it isn't the best transmission. That being said, it isn't the worst either! :-)

I don't think the performance mods change between auto and stick... just some stuf like a quick shifter and other small stuff that u can buy... and I think u should get grey

If the 350 is not an option I would actually go with the manual. I have the manual right now, and even though the transmission isn't ideal, it really is more fun driving it. It might just be me, but I feel like the manual isn't as sluggish as the auto is
