I'm guessing 2 things since I live in Middle East:

1) People say black interior is bad for this heat. (which I find it BS lol)
2) Tan comes standard, you must special order to get black

I have tan interior too, I wish I had black.

Thanks Rashoodz, I agree with you on number 1...I have black leather in my mr2 turbo and I don't notice a difference either unless my car is sitting outside for hours in 105 degree Farenhieght/ 40 degrees celsius sun baking weather. Black is also very hard to come by in starfire pearl cars. Seems to me that only 10-20% of starfire Pearl cars come with Black interior.

Does your interior turn black as the OP? I guess if I worked outdoors in a dirty envirionment or in the oil fields I could see that happening.

haha funny enough, here in the GCC everyone got plastic/covers around their seats. I get comments all the time about how im ruining the leather etc etc by sittin directly on it.

They do it to keep the car in mint coniditon and for resale value.

To OP: Nice car man, sick photo's as well.

Yes, my interior is very dirty and I really don't know the exact reason, except that I don't clean it much.

I need to go to a detailer or something.

Thats a nice Ride. Really liking the colour. Bahrain is quite a nice small place. I was there last week.

The Black interior does get a bit hot in the summer compared to the beige interior. I have a black interior 2008 IS 300 (Starfire Pearl) and i havent seen any around the same.

i would never plastic wrap my stuff. i buy my stuff to enjoy. i do take care of my stuff very well though(my white shoes still look new after 5 years).

some chinese ladies use car covers and wear gloves while driving to prevent dirting up their cars for higher resale...
