That makes no sense that my car is going to blow up seriously . Engine wise my car pulls as hard as my friends 335i sedan, the car is consuming a lot but it runs brand new

umm interesting. did you try reseting the mpg gauge? that might do the trick refreshing a new cycle of your driving habits.

When I bought my car, it started with 00.0 mpg and stayed there for a good month until it went up to 00.1mpg.....

after reseting that mpg consumption, now im getting constant 20.0mpg hwy/city

this might be an obvious question, but what type of gas are you putting in??

I use 93 octane sunoco gas. I thought that once you fill up the tank the mpg gauge reset if not how you do it by disconnecting the batt? Or there's another way?

Manhattan has got to be some of the worst traffic in the U.S. How long is your commute (time and distance)?

Number one biggest factor under your control is tire pressure. Try running near max pressure rating (Look at rating on tire). Run the lowest OEM rated motor oil (0w-20). You may want to change the diff oil to 75-90 full synthetic. If you can deal with "snow mode" it will help. Try and keep the accelerator pedal off the floor (That's a hard one for me). The 350 can get pretty good mileage if you stay off the gas!

I know I have a heavy foot and I drive a lot in local and I still get 19 to 21 on my IS350.

Something is wrong....

Im with you on this...

When I lived in Arizona for 6 months with my 08' 350 and did about 60/40 city/hwy - my lifetime tank average was 24.2 MPG for about 7000 miles... with AC on full blast, average temp was 85-90+ degrees............

Then I moved to Downtown Chicago and its freezing. if I drive my normal slightly-agressive ways I am now getting 17-19MPG 80% city/20% hwy

I had a week where I was off work and my tank was 100% CITY my MPG was 12.2!

I just think the cold weather and making many stops in a BIG CITY is the cause.

I drove my 350 from Phoenix to Chicago fully loaded with a TON of weight and my 2000 mile trip average was 28.1 mpg

I have a 06 IS350 too, but I usually get 360+ per tank and for full city driving I get around 21-22mpg. Check tire pressure and see if you are driving with pwr mode on.

Not necessarily. I had a friend in school who could never get good mileage in any car she ever had. I went for a ride with her......................OMG!! She was sawing back and forth on the throttle *constantly*. She could not cruise at one speed. At 45 mph I could watch her tach go up and down continuously. The funny part is, she didn't even know she was doing it.
