You need to cut the slits into that cover that allow air to travel up from the front air dam, or you'll starve your intake as that's where it draws air from for the cold air induction pipe.
I am talking about the "grills" in the plastic cover at the bottom in this picture.

Yeah, first time with that ticket, but Texas is a lot less harsh. They even used pictures off my phone instead of looking at my car outside, completely dismissed <2 minutes.

Correct sir. But that was my first ticket for it in 2.5 years with the car, so I feel the chance is pretty slim, and knowing it's a "fix-it" type ticket, definitely not worried about it.
