Out of curiousity...did you use the 3M painters tape? Cuz i've used it many times for a few days at a time with no residue!

 

Probably not bc I never dealt with this either,I rushed in the store at 4am and got it lol so can't recall the brand

 

Makes sense then, those off-brand ones probably would leave residue.

Make sure its 3M next time. Your cars too good for cheap tape

@ATX_250 - make sure you wash your car after you use the goo gone. It could possibly take off the clear coat if you don't.

 

I think you have 3 options. Depending on how severe the residue is and the condition of your paint prior to applying tape... Meguiar's M8532 Mirror Glaze #80 Diamond Cut Compound should do the trick, and leave a nice finish on your car. Otherwise Blue Coral makes a bug & sap removal gel wax that would definitely do it, you can buy this at most automotive type stores (Kragen, Autozone, Napa, etc)

Worse comes to worse... just clay your car my friend.

BEST THING YOU CAN EVER BUY! Make sure it's this though. 1000 times better than Goo Gone, Goof Off, etc.

It will NOT hurt your paint like Goof Off and others. This stuff is what a lot of vinyl wrapping companies use to take vinyl wraps off cars as it just makes the adhesive turn into nothing
