correct. make sure you buy the right bulb size for HID retrofitting.

Yes, because the stock fogs are only halogen and thus lack the ballast and everything else involved with HIDs.

you'll need an H11 HID retrofit kit like this one:

Huh? The fogs in the ISx50 are 9006 bulbs. H11 is for the lowbeams (in a non OEM HID car). Also, sounds like the OP is looking for a HID conversion kit, not a more complicated retrofitting application.

jayd89: Go with HIDExtra - they're a CL vendor and have conversion kits for real cheap (under $60 with the VDay special) and I hear they're good quality. XenonDepot is good too, a little more spendy though.

brociouz> i'm terrible. i should start proofreading my own posts. lol. but yes, you're right. i stand embarrassingly corrected.

also, i've been using retrofit as a synonym for conversion, so i should stop doing that to prevent further confusion.

jayd89> see quoted post.

Ok, now this post has me worried because I just put in an order last night for some Garax D4s and now im not sure if they'll fit my car. How can you know if you car uses D4s or H11 bulbs with out taking them off just yet?

And if incase my new Garax dont fit do you guys know the link for that conversion kit?

I hope I just didnt buy my light bulbs for nothing.... =(

if you have stock halogens (non-hids) they are h11, if you have stock hids they are d4s.

Thanks, I know the bulb sizes but im confuse to my order on the way for Garax D4's if they will fit. I dont know how to make out if my 06 IS350 takes Hids or non-Hids??

If my car turns out to take non-hids, is their a conversion kit for my Garax D4s already purchase I can place so I have not wasted my money?

If your car has AFS then it has factory HIDs.

Since you have an 06 it's even easier to figure out than that.

If your car has memory seats it has factory HIDs, otherwise it does not.

(for 07+ models you might still have HIDs without memory seats- best way would be to check if you have AFS on the multi-display)

Thx Kurtz, based on your feed back doesnt seem like I have the HID's, I also checked with local dealer and they confirmed with the Vin# that H11 is my bulb.

Check the CL vendor section - Xenon Depot (Volt or Xtreme) and HIDExtra are on there and both sell good products. DDM Tuning, not a CL vendor, also makes good conversion kits.

You could always keep the Garax bulbs and install them after the conversion is complete since they're supposed to one of the best bulbs, then sell the ones that come with the conversion kit. Or maybe it's possible to order a conversion kit without the bulbs - you'll have to ask. Good luck.
