Although expensive, I'm thinking about these as a lifetime investment:

I've done the self-made wood ramps before, but I like the concept of these....supposedly non-skid and they are detachable for when you need to get between the wheelbase.

Here's what I use all the time for ramps to get the jack under the car:

Bought the wood at Lowes, had them cut it for me, screwed and glued it at home.
that seems liek a GREAT IDEA!! i need to build something like that... i always have problems getting my car up my side skirts are HUGE... i have the INGS sideskirt so its so hard... the top of the jack doesnt even hit the jackspot and it already hit my sideskirts...

I was looking into that last year. Don't a full set cost like $500-$1000?

The set I showed is about $350-$400. However there are other models that start at around $225.

if you have a front lip and dropped those wont work. at least not for me... the have a test on their site to see if your car is high enough to clear it.

I also built some ramps out of 2x10s. I actually have 3 pieces of wood stacked, although I rarely drive up onto the 3rd level.

Like stated above, just have them cut all the pieces for you right at home depot. Screw em together an blam, a set of garage ramps for under $20.

Heres what I dont get, for that much money, why not just go to a metal fab shop and have them weld you some ramps to your own specific needs. If I had a MIG welder, I would have made my own years ago.

Cause then they'd be metal, which would be heavy. And they'd be one-piece, so they would be bulky.

I could make a ramp for much cheaper with some wood, but then the same issues would arise.

I normally drive up a piece of 3/4 in by 1 sq foot ply then use the spare tire jack. Once high enough I put the Jack stands.
