Default TPMS (ideas) ??

Hi all,.....

Has anybody taken the tire sensors off the factory wheels and put in them in the spare tire. I was told it’s a option for those of us with aftermarket wheels to fool the computer and avoid the TPMS alarm.

Thanks,....... Edz

From what I have been told you take the 4 sensors and tape them to the inside of the spare wheel inflate to 35 psi and thats it. I can't see why it won't work ?? The TPMS system only warns you of low preasure not which tire is low so if all the sensors are under preasure it should work.

This works so long as:

You don't care if the system doesn't inform you when your tires are low (which the OP clearly doesn't)

AND

You don't ever plan to use the spare (which the OP might)

or you can build a little home made canister at home depot for like 15 bucks. make it air tight and put the sensors in there and inflate. problem solved.

on another note, ive had my oem wheels off my 3GS for a few weeks and i never once got a low tire pressure light on.

Do you park anywhere near the wheels? that's good enough.
