So....i found some 17x8 e48 rota wheels. I figure I could squeeze some 275's in a drag radial and have a super light setup with as much grip this car could throw at it.
Whatcha think? will it clear the rear brakes in the is350? what about fitment? too inset?

why do you say that? i did a quick search on the googles and it brought back all kinds of folks using them in drag situations.
Do they break or something?

apparently one of the more famous rota breakage cases was with a 500hp civic running the ultra light 11 lb wheel during a track event at nurburgring?

ok so given that wheels break and that the situations involving these wheel breakages could have been extreme, ya'll wouldnt buy some to play with on the super cheap?
we're talking signifigant more metal in a 17 versus a 13 or whatever broke. still no?

I got a set of Rota D2 in the past and they were great, I don't track my previous car (s2k) so idk... I wouldn't mind the Rota P45R but they only come in 18's... Also the D2 were too heavy for track usage anyhow, lol...

06isDriver, the reason why I bring this up is because I know how it's like to goto a light weight wheel tire combo. The car is gonna feel lighter under acceleration and your gonna wanna drive harder and floor it more. I would still rock a set of rotas for my lex since i dont use it much. But as long as your aware of the warped wheels people are having and its cheap.. why not

what my friend did on his 350z when he did his drag wheel set up was he went to http://www.hawaiiracing.com/ and got 17in wheels and 28x10.5 mickey thompsons for 450 I think (he got a deal on the tires cause someone ordered them and never picked them up) his 350z is full bolt ons and gears with a 225 shot of nitrous and easily dipping into the low 11's high 10's and the 60 or 80 dollar wheels he is running have given him a problem at all

You could even throw these on your stock IS rims.. but just to let you know drag radials arent exactly needed for our cars I had a 100shot of nitrous on my IS350 while running hankook ventus v12 evo k110's in a 255/40/18 at 21.5 psi on the left and 23.5 on the right.. I cut a 1.7 60' which as far as I know is faster than any other 2is on or off drag radials
